Happy Holy Week, Families! We talked about Holy Thursday today and read about the Last Supper in our Beginners Bible. We then celebrated our own Passover Feast like Jesus and His Disciples complete with Unleven Bread (Nilla Wafers) and Wine (cranberry juice) but I think they most enjoyed getting to eat without their shoes on :)
We discussed the sacrifice of Jesus washing His Disciples feet-how he was showing them that we need to do kind things for others...maybe it's not washing their feet, maybe it's opening a door for them, or giving them a hug when they are sad, or helping them when they are frustrated. Then we did the same sacrifice in our room with me washing their feet (which we said is a big sacrifice for Ms. Brittney because she really, really, really doesn't like stinky feet).
Then they each got to have a turn to be like Jesus and wash my feet (that was much less of a sacrifice for me:), I told them if they go to Mass on Thursday to watch and listen because the Priest will do something just like this! We also talked about how they can have a Passover Last Supper with their families at home on Thursday just like we did in our classroom!
