We made it to the weekend!

We had a great time at our bear picnic, even with the rain, we improvised and had the rest in the gym. Enjoy spending time with your wonderful kiddos this long weekend! Next week we will be covering letter C and colors! And for the first time the Letter Bag will be going home with one lucky kiddo... Instead of a Newsletter this week, I am sending home a flyer for our first family fun night. It will be next Friday, September 7th on the Preschool Playground (the one next to the church) from 6:30-7:30. There is a sign up sheet in our classroom for snacks to bring and an RSVP list so we can get a general idea of how many people will be coming. I hope everyone can come out and have some fun getting to meet all of the Preschool teachers and hang out with other Preschool Families! Have a fun and safe weekend and we will see you Tuesday morning!

Noontime News

Good Afternoon! I have recently been reminded of an important date that I need to share. On Wednesday, September 12th there will be NO AFTER SCHOOL CARE because Helias is having their school retreat that day and that is where almost all of the after care workers come from. Sorry for the inconvenience but I promise this only happens 3 times a year tops (parent teacher conference night and Christmas Break being the only other ones)! Happy Thursday!

Rainy Wednesday

Hello families! Our Bear Hunt was a success today! We found 3 letter B's and 3 Bears hiding around the school. One was eating in the pantry in the kitchen, one was waiting in the office, and one was reading books in the library. Thanks to all those we ran into along the way who helped make our hunt more magical (lunch ladies, office ladies, Ms. Jeannie, Mrs. Luebbert, Will, and Brendan:)! The kiddos loved using their binoculars and they were really good at spotting letter B around the school. Gave me an idea I wanted to share if you were looking for ways to work on letter recognition with your child, help them find letters around them. When you are in the check out line at the store, play letter I spy, where they have to look around them and find a special letter. It is amazing how excited they get when they find one! I love their enthusiasm for all things:) The bears we found today left us a special invitation to go on a Bear Picnic with them on Friday, the kiddos can bring a teddy bear from home (or any other cuddle buddy they may want) and we will bring them on our picnic on Friday! Terrific Tuesday

Happy 11th Day of school! Can you believe we have already been together for 11 days?! I have loved getting to know these little ones and they are making some great connections at school. We have been growing so much and it is amazing to see them getting a bit more independent each and everyday. Can't wait to see what the rest of this year has in store for us! Don't you just love Mondays?!

Normally I would be saying that with a lot of sarcasm but for this one single Monday, it has actually been a really great one! The kiddos are doing great, we got through all of circle time this morning without breaking because they were losing interest, we did a fun letter B craft, we got in some Smartboard time, we took a bear hunt walk, talked about how God wants us to be good friends to each other, and they helped me come up with ways to be good friends. I wrote down their ideas and they helped me write their names beside it, so I will be hanging it up so we can refer back to it. So all in all, a great Monday! It is so crazy how in 10 days time, these little munchkins can mean so much to me, but they have truly helped make this Monday a whole lot brighter and I am so glad to have them in class! Now to break out the glue sticks this afternoon! Have a great day and we will see you after school.

It's finally Friday!

We made it through a full week of school!!! I think the kiddos are feeling it because even before recess this morning, I had several ask me if it was nap time yet because they were tired. It has been a good week but I am excited to begin our letter focus next week-it is so amazing watching these little guys start to identify letters and be able to form them, plus the bear hunt is a ton of fun!!! What we like

We have some play-doh lovers in this class! We played with it today, starting with making snakes and shaping them into letters but after they did that, I let them play with it however they like and they used it all morning! So far we are having a pretty wonderful day. It is wonderful to see the great friendships they are making in class. We are working on maintaining those friendships by focusing on how to talk nicely to each other, how to use words to explain something before hitting out at each other. Next week friendship will be a big focus of our religion lessons. Have a great Thursday, see you after school.

Well it's Wednesday

Hello again, friends! We got to work with stickers today, which was entertaining... I mentioned yesterday about up coming events, there is a Parent Lunch day coming up for families with the last name starting with A-E. It is next week August 28th, if you would like to attend please call the office and let them know you will be coming, and on Tuesday, come to the office at 10:50 and they will give you a pass and direct you to the cafeteria to have lunch with your little one. New Phone Issues

Sorry to have already let you down and not posted yesterday, I got a new phone over the weekend but forgot the cord so I couldn't post any pictures. I got the ones from yesterday and the ones from today posted now so enjoy! We have been having so much fun and now that we are getting into a routine, things are going so much smoother! There is a lot more fun to come and I will fill you in as things come up, you can always check the blog for info, I also try to email when specific activities are coming up but I am sure your child will let you hear about it if I ever forget:) Have a great Tuesday, and we will see you after school!

Fri-yay!

Congrats, we made it through week one! Now to tackle a 5 day week of school, but now that we are getting settled into a routine, the mornings seem to be going pretty smooth so hopefully that won't make it too rough. We went on a walking adventure to visit the big school today, we saw the office and met Mrs. Trachsel, Ms. Kelley, and Ms. Mary, and we saw the library, and the cafeteria. I think they really liked seeing where their big siblings go to school (we even ran into a couple of them). We will begin working on themes next week and start curriculum work by doing Chica Chica Boom Boom and focusing on the alphabet. There will be a lot of fun activities to come. We have also set a tentative date for our first Family Fun Night for Friday, September 7th. Family Fun Nights are Preschool sponsored events, that we Preschool teachers put together to gather our kiddos and their families together so that we can all spend some time together, have fun, and get to know one another as a school community. I will have a time and more details as the event approaches, put wanted to give you a preliminary heads up! Have a great weekend, and I will see you on Monday!

Getting better everyday

Today was fire drill day and it went...GREAT! No tears, nobody covering their ears from the noise, and no tripping! I think some of them were a little disappointed that real firetrucks didn't show up but they got over that pretty quickly. Because of the fire drill we didn't get around to an activity today but we did work on calendar and jobs so that next week we can work that into our routine every morning. This afternoon we are going to be using shaving cream to help us draw some shapes and letters! We will see you after school today!

Day Two-Woo-Hoo!

Hello, Hello everyone! We are having a fantastic day in Preschool! Today we heard the sound the fire alarms make and had a fire drill! They did awesome, I know sometimes it is scary to talk about fires so we make sure we talk about how it is just practice and there is no real fire. They all seemed totally ok with it. Tomorrow we will do one with the whole school and will hear the school alarms go off, so it might be a bit more overwhelming but we will handle that as it comes. I think they had fun making pudding this morning and they were super about taking turns stirring and helping count while it was the other person's turn. We are still working on procedures in class but it is so cool to see them already starting to settle into a routine! Our year is off to a great start, I hope you would agree. Day One-Done, almost

Hello families, so far so good!!! We have had a fun morning getting to know each other and the toys in our classroom. To see pictures, please go to the Preschool Happenings Tab on the right hand side of the page and click on today's date. I will post pictures under there each day (hopefully, if time allows LOL:)They have done fantastic practicing to line up, get our lunch trays, and pick up our toys. We also celebrated our first snack together with some chocolate covered granola bars!! And since they are such fast learners, we had a little bit of extra recess time (we got sprinkled on a little, but they did not seem to mind:) We are resting now so we can have a fun afternoon! Hello, Hello!! Welcome to my class, I am so excited to have you in it! I am Miss Brittney and I cannot wait to begin helping your child learn and discover the joys of their school adventure! Everyday I will post to keep you up to date on your child's day, so you do not miss a thing.
