Apple Pie Day

The junior master bakers have completed their challenge: Apple Pie! They smell amazing and turned out really well, I can't wait to see everyone try their pie:) (No, they aren't burnt, the kiddos just kind of doused them in a TON of cinnamon sugar:)
They did a great job adding the ingredients (canned apple pie filling), making a venting design on the top of the crust (after a very long "this is a grown up knife and you have to be safe around it and while using it and you only get to use it because you are sitting right next to a grown up" lecture on safety:), crimping the sides (crimp like shrimp-whatever that means, they had a lot of fun saying it over and over while we did it LOL:), and of course the favorite part, "sprinkling" AKA dumping the cinnamon sugar on top!!!!

What you get when you ask your not an art teacher teacher to put a leaf on your pie...apparently it's more star like than leaf like-art critique from a 4 year old:)

While patiently waiting our turns to bake, we played blocks....

and with a sensory table filled with acorns...

And the farmers market, apple cider bar, orchard was finally open for business!!!!!
It was so cute watching them "shop", mix drinks for each other, and pick pumpkins and gourds:)
