Today we played with balloons, because balloons start with B. We also sang the baby bumblebee song and looked at the lyrics, finding all the letter B's we could. All the little detectives did awesome!
I'm sorry I didn't get the family fun night flier sent home last night, I got pulled into a meeting during my normal copy time, so I will get those copies sent out today.
Also there will be no After School Care Wednesday, September 13th. I will send out reminders closer to that time, but I wanted to make sure there was time to get it on the calendar.
Only one more day till the long weekend! We will see you after school!

Bear Hunt Update

Happy Wednesday Afternoon Families! We did something pretty exciting today, we went on a bear hunt! And we found so many bears!!! Thank you to all of our helpers who gave a clues and tips, Miss Debbie in the kitchen, Mrs.Raymer and the 4th Graders, Mrs.Neidert, and Mrs.Luebbert! The kids had so much fun finding the bears, singing our bear hunt song (we had to go through the squishy,muddy Marsh, swim through the big river, push through the tall grass because we couldn't go over it and we couldn't go under it...this was our introduction to positional words:), and cuddly the big furry guys. They did a great job taking turns carrying the bears around and making sure everyone had a turn. 

Our last bear invited us to a bear picnic on Friday!!! The invitation is in their cubby so please remember to take it home tonight.

As promised here is the news on our first Family Fun Night. The Preschool teachers host these four times a year and for our first one we are going to have a playground meet and greet Friday, September 8th at 6:00. We will have cookies and juice, we ask for parents to please sign up to help supply treats. There will be a sign up sheet by our sign in sheet starting tomorrow morning. It should be a lot of fun, the flyer will also be in your child's cubby tonight:)

Last but not least, Happy Birthday to Quinn! Thanks to Quinn and her Mommy for the yougurt birthday treats, they were  big hit!

Noontime News

Hello Families! Today we extended our knowledge of "B" by adding some items to our letter bag. Then we read " Who will Buy This Teddy Bear," every time we hear a B sound, we had to touch our ears. Then we used black, brown, or blue (notice a theme?) Paint to sponge paint bears and a letter B.
Today was our first parent lunch day! Channing was so excited his Mommy got to have lunch with him! Thanks for stopping by! Parent Lunch F-K will be September 19th, I'll email you a reminder when you need to make reservations.
Tomorrow I will be sending out some information regarding our first Preschool Family Fun night, so please keep an eye out for that.

First Monday!

We've almost made it through our first Monday at school and it's going great! We have jumped into learning about letter B by going on a bear hunt on the smart board ( we will be doing a real one through the big school later this week:) and eating bear food( honey nut Cheerios). We also made bears but it was a little harder than I expected so we only got a few done, we will have to finish after recess. We read " Let the Children Come to Me" a book about how Jesus loves children. Then we talked about how Jesus taught the Children how to be nice and kind to each other so that's how we treat our friends. Now a little Naptime for the kiddos and craft prep time for Miss Brittney. Friday, Friday, Read All About It!

Happy afternoon! Today we used Bingo dotters to make the first letter of our names, it went awesome! We have been using this beautiful weather to our benefit and have been really enjoying the slides out at recess. There's a lot of pent up energy today so this afternoon is going to be recess and then hokey pokey, alphabet work out, count to 100 work out anything that lets these active bodies move! Preschool Teacher tip to parents: wanna exercise and help your kiddo learn? Search YouTube for Preschool alphabet or number exercises- there are some intense ones out there (I break a sweat almost every morning doing one video with them).
Just a little note, I will be sending home this week's projects in folders so please take a look at all of your child's hard work from the week. In the folders are release forms for if you want your child to receive the flu shot at school. Please fill it out and return it to school on Monday.

Thursday's Thoughts

Hello, Hello! Preschool is having a fun day of play and learning. We did have another fire drill today, which the kiddos rocked! The alarm was still a little too loud and scary but once we got inside, had a Tootsie roll and then played in shaving cream, they were pretty much over it. We talked about how God gave us special smiles and then we drew smiling faces in our shaving cream:) Everyone like shaving cream to different degrees from love it to please let me dbe done after one minute. This afternoon we are going to read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom again and make the coconut tree with letters on a large scale...Let the fun begin!

Wednesday Wrap Up

We are halfway there folks! Today we did a Paw Patrol ABC song that they loced ( just search Preschool ABC songs on YouTube and you will be amazed at what you find). Then we read "Little Critter's ABC'S." After snack I showed them the first letter of their names, upper case and lower case. We traces the letter with our fingers and then they got to outline it in stickers. At recess, the entire class made a train that went down the bumpy slide, yes all then of them not stop down a slide and then back up the stairs and down again. It was so wonderful to see them all playing so well together. The shyness is starting to wear off and making friends is coming easier now.
There is a Home and School meeting tonight at 6:30 in the gym, I have to be there but you all do not, unless you have an overwhelming urge to attend, have a fantastic evening at home with your lovely children, and we will see you after school.
