Preschool Movie Review

They had so much fun today!!!!! We delivered a few Christmas presents to the staff around school and they really enjoyed that. Then it was time to see our movie show. Of course the bus was exciting and then we had popcorn and our water bottles and got to see the movie all about the people we had been talking about all week. I love watching movies with the kids because of their commentary and insight into the story. Like when the angel told Mary, "Do not be afraid" like three kids turned to me and whispered "Oh Miss Brittney, he said do not be afraid just like in our story!" It is just so sweet and innocent that it fills my heart with joy! They loved the movie and talked about it all afternoon, even through our carpet picnic for lunch. I hope you get all of the details tonight.
In scheduling news, we talked about next week: Here is a break down for you:
Monday: Polar Express Day: Wear Pajamas (even Miss Brittney will be because I just got new Santa Jammies just for the occasion)
Tuesday: Birthday Party for Jesus, we will be opening presents for the classroom, having cupcakes, making a banner, and playing with balloons. They are under the impression that at baby's birthday parties the baby gets their face messy, so now they think baby Jesus will have a messy face, we will see what we can do..
Wednesday: Christmas Party Day and Early out.
Whew...I foresee a lot of caffeine in my future. Have a great day. See you after school.

We will be having a picnic lunch of ham sandwiches or sunbutter and jelly in our classroom after the movie so do not worry about picking lunch for your kiddo tomorrow. I think that is it for today...Have a good one, see you after school!

Technical Difficulties :(

Due to my computer not wanting to cooperate, I will not be able to upload any photos today, sorry:( but rest assured we are having a lot of fun learning about the Nativity and everyone is perfectly healthy and happy! I hope I will be able to get it all worked out by tomorrow. Today we made some Happy Birthday Jesus door hangers and read some stories about the nativity while acting it out with our Manger Scene characters.
Now for an afternoon of finishing up your secret parent gifts ;) Have a great afternoon and we will see you after school.

St. Nicholas Day News

Good afternoon! Our shoes are out and most of us are sleeping, time to see if St. Nicholas is bringing us gifts!!! We will also have our drill this afternoon and then a buddy activity with our 8th grade buddies. So a lot of fun still to come!
With cold weather upon us, I just wanted to let everyone know that unless it is colder than 32 degrees, we will be going outside for recess. Just a little reminder so that you can plan your child's outfits accordingly.
That is it for today, have a good one and we will see you after school.

Trivia Tuesday

Did you know...that reindeer antlers can be up to 3ft tall! The antlers we put on our reindeer were not quite that big.
Reminders:
Field trip forms due on Friday.
Tomorrow is St. Nicholas Day. We will celebrate by putting their shoes outside our door at naptime and we will see if St. Nicholas brings them a candy cane and a penny...I plan on talking to them about how they can keep their penny or use it to make someone else happy like when we put money into the red kettles at the store.
We will be having a drill tomorrow, we talked about it today in case your kiddos says anything.
Christmas break starts Wednesday, December 20th with a 1:30 dismissal and no after care.
I think that is it. Have a good afternoon, and we will see you after school.

Let's Get Down to Business

Good Afternoon Everyone! Sounds like it was a fun filled weekend from Living Windows, to Christmas Parades, and Christmas Countdown Chains, there were a lot of stories being told this morning.
Just a few notes:
Thank you for turning in those permission forms for the movie. If you haven't done so yet, please have everything in by Friday. Thanks!
Last day of school before Christmas break is Wednesday, December 20th. It is a 1:30 dismissal with no after care that day.
Also I had mentioned something about doing a class family night thing on December 14th, unfortunately, I have not been able to find a venue so it is not going to be possible.
That is it for today. Have a great afternoon and we will see you after school.

Fri-yay!!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone! We have been having a lot of fun getting our classroom ready for Christmas. We have talked about Advent and will be using an Advent wreath for Prayer until Christmas. There are a lot of materials going home to help you celebrate the season as well. Here is a little outline of everything that will be in your kiddo's cubby tonight.

  1. Advent Wreath that they made in class-we talked about lighting the candles, what they mean, and what order they get lit in.So when you are ready to light them on Sunday, they will know which on to do first.
  2. Prayer sheet-Just a little prayer for when you light your advent wreath each week. When I was little we had one with a different prayer for everyday but I didn't want to hog the copier but you can find one online or at your church.
  3. Christmas Countdown Chain-they really worked on their pattern skills and counting skills on this one! Use it at home to help the little ones with counting, patterns, and being excited about Christmas!!!!(Even though I am sure they don't need help with that last one.
  4. A Christmas Countdown Challenge-just a resource with ideas on how to live out that little bit of Jesus inside of you everyday until Christmas, great for a family goal/challenge
  5. School Advent Resource-the big school is sending home packets of Advent resources every Friday.
Whew, that is a lot of stuff. I hope you find some or all of it useful in helping your child and your family keep the true spirit of Christmas alive in your hearts! Have a great weekend, I know there are a lot of festivities happening so enjoy! See you after school.
